Hot Air Welding

Hot air welding allows us to support a variety of industries that require plastic products that have to be welded together. Many plastics that are chemically resistant can't be fabricated with glues or solvents. Our services include custom fabrication of hot air welded products, as well as repair (locally) of products including holding tanks, kayaks, boats, etc... that are made with materials such as HDPE, LDPE, or PP.

There are a wide variety of plastic materials that can be hot-air welded together, including some of the following:
  • HDPE
  • LDPE
  • PVC
  • Polypropylene
  • Vinyl
  • Polycarbonate
  • Acrylic
  • CPVC
  • ABS
  • KYDEX

Hot air welding is the process of welding plastics together with the same material (in rod form) by fusing the materials together. The welder is controlled with air pressure and heat settings specific to the materials requirement to fuse them together. It is typical to use like materials when welding although, under certain circumstances, some materials will fuse together dependent upon their chemical properties.
