Community Involvement

As part of its commitment to the communities it serves, Visual Options enjoys teaming up with local organizations that focus on making significant humanitarian change and those that provide education, shelter, and support for individuals, the environment, and local animals (wild and domestic).

Ava, our beautiful office dog (shown above) was adopted through the Prison Pet Partnership (PPP.)  The PPP is a non-profit focused on training rescue animals to provide service for persons with disabilities. Each animal cost approx $10,000 to train and ones that aren’t able to become service animals go through obedience training and a detailed adoption process before they find their forever home. Visual Options are thrilled to be a sponsor of “Power of the Paw” on October 13th.

We also support the Kitsap Humane Society’s Animal Krackers event on September 29th. The Kitsap Humane Society works with the community to help find homes for homeless pets in the Kitsap area since 1908.

An organization, we love and continuously support at Visual Options is the West Sound Wildlife Shelter.  The Shelter serves the entire western Puget Sound region by providing injured, orphaned, and sick wildlife a second chance at life and promotes the well-being of wildlife and their habitats through public outreach, education, and involvement. Visual Options is a proud sponsor of  Wild for Wine, a fall gala on Saturday, October 6th and were the Auction Sponsor for the West Sound Wildlife Shelter’s Annual Auction in April 2018, an event that raised over $195,000 this year alone.

One of our spotlight partnerships was being able to custom fabricate a tank for the Adventuress, a 133′ historic vessel, part of the fleet with Sound Experience, a non-profit based in the Puget Sound region. Sound Experience’s mission is to educate,

inspire, and empower an inclusive community that works to improve our marine

environment and celebrates the maritime heritage our area is so proud of. Students and classrooms climb aboard the Adventuress for a 3 hour to 10 day trip, and learn to raise the sails, navigate, while fostering teamwork, cooperation, leadership and personal growth. *PC: Dustin Garrett

Helping end hunger in the community is something we are passionate about. Visual Options  and our team, are continual supporters of Feed253 and the Tacoma Rescue Mission.

Feed253 is focused on a vision of helping end hunger here in the 253. They began in 2009 as an office food drive and in 2017 delivered over 15,000 pounds of turkey, produce, pies, and non-perishables to local shelters, food banks, and other local groups in our Pierce County. Feed253 volunteers provide year-round meals twice a week as part of the meal program at the YWCA. Visual Options is excited to be a 2018 Presenting Sponsor for the 10th Annual ThanksGIVING Benefit on Saturday, November 3rd.

The Tacoma Rescue Mission’s focus is to serve the homeless and hurting of Pierce County and Tacoma.  The Mission serves over 1,000 meals a day, offers transition housing, classes to successfully transition back into the community, and youth programs including tutoring.

Visual Options supports the ASPCA, Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, and other local non-profits we keep close to our hearts.
