For The Love Of Life

Ava, our beautiful dog who adorns our VO offices (shown above) was adopted through the Prison Pet Partnership (PPP). PPP is located on the grounds of the Washington Corrections Center for Women in Gig Harbor.  Their program operates a boarding and grooming facility and has a special vocational education program that provides training for inmates giving them job skills and self-confidence to find employment in the pet care industry upon release.  PPP rescues an average of 20 dogs annually. The program focuses on training service dogs and “paroled pets”. Their special group of service dogs help disabled persons lead a more independent life.  “Paroled Pets” are trained and placed in forever homes. Supporting the PPP makes a very positive difference in the life of someone with a special need while offering valuable skills and a second chance to inmates and rescued dogs.  See their inspiring work at http://www.prisonpetpartnership.org/
