There are a wide variety of plastic materials that can be hot-air welded together, including some of the following:
- HDPE
- LDPE
- PVC
- Polypropylene
- Vinyl
- Polycarbonate
- Acrylic
- CPVC
- ABS
- KYDEX
Hot air welding is the process of welding plastics together with the same material (in rod form) by fusing the materials together. The welder is controlled with air pressure and heat settings specific to the materials requirement to fuse them together. It is typical to use like materials when welding although, under certain circumstances, some materials will fuse together dependent upon their chemical properties.
